Chapter Number is SD0068

Your user name is your first initial (capitalized) and your last name with the first letter capitalized.  Example LPetersen

Your password is the same as your user name.

Once you are logged in click on profile. Work through those tabs and enter information.  You will also be able to change your password to something more secure and that you might more easily remember.  Work through the tabs in the student profile section.  When editing your personal profile, please enter a valid email address for at least one of your parents.  This system will allow me to send a mass email to all parents for things like State Convention info or Banquet and Picnic invites etc.  Record your ag classes for the past two or three years.  for last year and the year before you will just enroll in the Ag class.  I didn’t enter all of the classes.  Start working on entering info.  If you need help, let me know.  Under Develop your AET Experiences – select those things that would be involved in your SAE.

The Journal Tab gives you the following options:

Here is where (Time in your AET Experiences (SAE’s) you will record your hours etc for your SAE.  Start entering beginning with January of this year.  We’ll work on prior years soon.

Opportunity is knocking.

I’m betting that the majority of you are too tired from Prom to concentrate on records today so we’ll do some blogging instead.  Bring any hours, expenses, income etc that you have for Tuesday so we can really get going on records.

Always there for me

CDE Season is upon us!  Tomorrow (Wednesday, March 19th) we leave at 8:00 a.m.  Bring lunch or money.  Wear casual clothes, bring a pencil.  Lennox is next week Wednesday March 26th, another Blue Day.  We will leave at 9:00 a.m. Again, bring lunch or money, wear casual clothes, bring a pencil. Our final prelim CDE will be Monday, March 31 at Tri-Valley.  Our departure time has not been set yet.

For today:  Spend some time studying, please!  Make sure your make up slip is under control for tomorrow.

Being Grateful

The change in our weather is something that I’m so grateful for.  Most of the snow and ice have melted from our driveway and the thaw is starting to fill up the pond again.  After a long winter and many hours in the backhoe, I’m thankful that it seems Spring is on it’s way, finally!

I caught up on Ag Leadership grades yesterday.  So, if you STILL have a missing post you might want to get after that!

We will leave for Flandreau next week Wednesday before school starts.  It will be a Blue day.  Please start early on your make up slip as you won’t be able to get them signed in the morning before we leave.  I will be registering our teams for State Convention next week.  It’s a lot of money for the chapter to spend if people are not going to be adequately prepared.  It’s time to hit it hard!

Time Alone

Many of you know that Jay travels a lot for his job. That means I spend a lot of time alone.  I’m rarely lonely and I’m rarely bored.  That’s not to say that I don’t miss him, but, I enjoy my alone time, so it’s a tradeoff that works for me.  One memory of feeling really alone for me was when I was traveling to Europe to meet up with a group of WC students on an exchange to Moldova in the former Soviet Union.  I had had a conference to attend prior to departure so flew alone to meet them.  I was only behind them by a couple of days, but, I was alone.  Alone in a strange place with a strange language and some sights that took me aback.  When I landed in Bucharest Romania and were taxiing to the terminal the sight out my window was of old broken down planes lining the tarmac.  Surrounding them were razor wire fences and gun turrets – with guys AND big machine type looking guns in them!  things went fine and I met up with the group the next day.  One thing is for sure, My one night in Bucharest, I was lonely and felt alone!  What about you?

Habits

If you have a missing grade in the grade book it is for one of a few reasons:

1.  You have not emailed me a link to your blog

2. I have not been able to grade any late posts because I did  not have links to your blogs until you send/sent them to me.

3.  I have not gone back in to look for posts that were missing when the due date arrived.

There are sign up sheets for CDEs on the door for Flandreau – March 19, Lennox  – March 26, and Tri-Valley – March 3.  Registrations will have to be sent in relatively soon, so, you know what to do.

What’s one bad habit we would all be better off without? Why?  What’s one habit that you believe you need to develop?  They say it takes something like 7 days to make something into a habit.  Do you think that is true? Tell me all about it.

I killed the website!

We’ll use today for CDE Prep while I continue to re-build the webpage. There is a sign up sheet for Tri-Valley CDEs on the door.  Spend at least HALF of today’s class period preparing in some way for your CDE.  Don’t forget to document your time in the google doc.

Sign up sheets for Flandreau and Lennox will be coming soon.

Please send me an email with a link to your blog so that I can re-create my links page for grading your posts.

I have not figured out what to do about missing posts in the grade book since the prompts for those posts no longer exist.  Suggestions?  The prompt about the Chipotle commercial has been added to this website so you are still responsible for that post.

If you’re reading this……..

You’ve discovered that this is a totally new website.  I learned the valuable lesson of patience today!  In my haste to migrate the Ag Leadership page to a different domain, I managed to delete the entire database!  Yay me! NOT!  So, there went nearly four years worth of work.  Guess we’ll start fresh.  Please bare with me while I continue to re-build the site.

For those of you that need the prompt for the most recent post, here it is:

It’s National FFA Week.  A time when we celebrate the history and traditions of American agriculture and leadership.  Part of that responsibility is to be sure that we are adequately educated and can speak intelligently about our industry.

Chipotle is at it again.  Please watch this video and react to the message it sends.

What do you think about what you saw?  Is there anything wrong with the message that Chipotle is sending.  What can you do to help send a more positive message about agricultural production in America?
